Ingredients

    For the Baked Brie

    • 1 round Brie cheese
    • Olive oil, for drizzling
    • Dried thyme, to taste
    • Fig jam, at room temperature
    • Chopped pecans, toasted
    • Honey, for drizzling
    • Sea salt, to taste

    For the Crostini

    • 1 baguette, sliced
    • Olive oil, for drizzling

    Optional for Serving

    • Green apples, thinly sliced
    • Assorted crackers

    Directions

    1. Prepare the Brie and crostini. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the Brie on a piece of parchment paper in an oven safe baking dish. Arrange the baguette slices on a separate baking sheet or alongside the Brie if space allows.
    2. Score the cheese. Using a sharp knife, make shallow diagonal cuts across the top of the Brie in a crisscross pattern. Avoid cutting too deeply into the cheese.
    3. Season and prepare for baking. Lightly drizzle the Brie and baguette slices with olive oil. Sprinkle dried thyme over the cheese.
    4. Bake. Place in the oven and bake at 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the Brie is soft and melted in the center and the baguette slices are lightly golden and crisp. Remove the crostini earlier if they finish toasting before the cheese.
    5. Toast the pecans. While the Brie is baking, add the chopped pecans to a dry skillet over medium low heat. Toast for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant and lightly golden. Remove from the heat and set aside.
    6. Add the toppings. Remove the baked Brie from the oven and generously spoon the room temperature fig jam over the top. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with toasted pecans.
    7. Finish with sea salt. Add a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt to balance the sweetness and enhance the flavors.
    8. Serve. Serve immediately while the Brie is warm and gooey, alongside crispy crostini, fresh green apple slices, and crackers. Enjoy!
