Ingredients

  • Hummus (homemade or store-bought)
  • Steak, cut into small chunks (Ribeye or New York Strip)
  • Pine nuts, toasted
  • Avocado oil
  • Extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Allspice
  • Ceylon cinnamon
  • Paprika
  • Fresh parsley

Directions

  1. Cut the steak into small chunks or bite-sized pieces.
  2. Heat avocado oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak pieces to the hot pan—avoid overcrowding. Cook in batches if needed.
  3. While cooking, season with salt, black pepper, allspice, and Ceylon cinnamon. Stir well to coat the beef evenly. Sear for a few minutes, just until browned on all sides. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a separate skillet, heat olive oil and add the pine nuts. Toast until golden brown, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. To serve, spread a generous layer of hummus on a plate. Top with the warm spiced beef, a sprinkle of paprika, toasted pine nuts, and a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil.
  6. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with warm pita bread. Enjoy!
