Sautéed Asparagus

This sautéed asparagus is bright, buttery, and perfectly balanced with garlic and fresh lemon. Lightly crisp yet tender, it’s finished with shaved Parmigiano for a simple, elegant side dish that pairs beautifully with chicken, fish, or steak. Quick, fresh, and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 bundle asparagus (medium thickness), trimmed, washed, and patted dry

  • 2 tbsp. butter

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

  • Crushed red pepper flakes

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • Lemon zest

  • Parmigiano cheese, shaved

Directions

  1. Wash, trim, and pat the asparagus dry.

  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. Add the asparagus to the skillet and season generously with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Toss to coat evenly.

  4. Sauté for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly tender but still crisp.

  5. Add the minced garlic, toss again, and cook for another 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

  6. Remove from heat. Finish with fresh lemon zest, a squeeze of lemon juice, and shaved Parmigiano cheese. Serve as a side with your favorite protein. Enjoy!
